Facilities
This is a unique park that pays homage to the past. The Kenner Naval Museum Commission has created an outdoor museum displaying items at the park including a war monument, a fighter jet, an attack jet and two cannons. The museum’s newest addition is a restored 1941 Dodge Army staff car now on display. This makes Veteran’s Park a perfect setting to host Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day Memorial Ceremonies which the City of Kenner does annually
Not only does this park give you a walk through American History it also displays some local history. Words like Bali Hai and Zephyr are familiar to those that enjoyed Pontchartrain Beach many years ago. Although Pontchartrain Beach is locally considered “Ain’t There No More” Veteran’s Park preserves its memory with a Bali Hai themed shelter and part of the Zephyr roller coaster on display.
